True, but those miracles happened, all the same. It's very simple. If they don't beat USC, they're out of the hunt. If they win AT USC, they've earned a shot at the top dog. All of this will become moot should the Trojans kick their ass, which is a definite possibility. Everything will take care of itself.

Like Rick Nielsen once forced Robin Zander to sing, "Everything works out if you let it."

Norte Dame has also beaten Georgia Tech on the road (8-2) and Penn State (7-4, all four losses in the Top 12). Navy ain't exactly a cakewalk these days.

Arkansas has to hope Notre Dame takes care of USC, I think USC gets in the title game by virtue of their win over the Hogs earlier this year if it comes down to them being the best one loss teams in America. Michigan gets it if the Irish become involved in the top three.

If the loser of Michigan-Ohio State still ends up in the BCS Championship Game, that will be the greatest load of bullshit ever heaped upon the American public. You had your shot, losers, now move aside.

I agreed with Cowheard this afternoon. If USC & ARK or FLA win out, then USC in the NC. But if ND & Ark or FLA win out, the SEC team goes.

But if both ND and ARK win out, ND will have beaten USC, while ARK will have lost to USC. Shouldn't common opponents come into play? And if I recall correctly, it's not like that USC-Arkansas game was a squeaker. I think the Trojans beat the shit out of them, didn't they? I understand your logic, otherwise, Tanner. The SEC is EASILY the best conference in college football. Nobody else is even close. So, it's a tough call.

It's a fair argument. But the reason I like Ark. is because the loss was the first game of the season. Arkansas is pretty young and they were still figuring out what kind of team they were gonna be. If they win out, they would have beaten Tennesse (top 20 team), LSU (top 10), and Fla (top 5) in the last four weeks. Pair that with and earlier win against Auburn (top 20) and that's 4 big wins. ND's biggest wins would be USC (top 5), Purdue (NR), UCLA(NR), and Georgia Tech (top 20).

But the point will be moot cause LSU will be Arkansas and Auburn will be Florida in the rematch in the SEC Championship.

No, the USC-Arkansas game was not a squeaker. But then again, neither was Michigan-Notre Dame, which would make Michigan more qualified at one loss than the Faggot Irish. Right?

Fuck Notre Dame and their cries of victimhood. They are the only (overrated) team with a solo television contract and an inside track to the BCS without a pesky conference getting in the way.

I see that someone's still upset about Notre Dame winning the Commander-in-Chief Trophy.

(Actually, does ND get to claim that? I thought it went to the service academy with the best head-to-head record against the others.)

USC will beat Notre Dame and pass in Michigan in the computer rankings and be #2 in the BCS... then will lose to UCLA in a humiliating loss.

Yeah, humiliation, that's what I'm talking about...

Win out and they're in: USC
Win out + USC loss: Florida
Win out BIG + USC/Florida losses: Arkansas, Notre Dame

I don't see pollsters ranking Notre Dame above Michigan, even if they tromp USC (which they won't), but I think they may give Arkansas the nod if they beat both LSU and Florida.

Should common opponents come into play? Yes, but not to the point where it overrides overall strength of schedule. I think Arkansas wins there if both they and ND win out.
