As of this week, I'd rather see Nebraska play Auburn than any of the other teams. While I'd love the LSU/Nebraska game, I fear what Bo Pellini would do to his old team. Nebraska plays at Wake Forest next year, so that wouldn't be that intriguing. Nebraska and Cal wouldn't be bad either, but since we already travelled to California once this year, a bowl trip to Texas or Florida would be better for recruiting.

If a 1-loss Rutgers team ends up in the Sun Bowl, that would be a travesty of the highest order.

I didn't want to start a new thread for this but reports say that Jeff Bowden quit as O Coordinator at FSU today.

Sounds like he fell on the sword for dad.

They should have just changed his title to 0 Coordinator.

Would it be any worse than the 1998 K-State team that went to the Alamo Bowl after losing the Big 12 title game to A&M or Oregon playing in the Holiday bowl after getting screwed out of the BCS by Notre Dame?
I congratulate Rutgers on the year that they are having, but they are still a program that has only went to two bowl games ever and aren't known for having a huge following. Do you really think a BCS bowl wants to rely on them for attendance? I know it isn't fair to base a bowl bid on possible attendance and following, but that is really how it works.

Yeah, I'm fine with them going to the Sun Bowl now, after losing to TIMMYJOE!!!

I know, I think Nebraska would have a better chance of winning the Fiesta Bowl against Boise State then they would beating Auburn/LSU in the Cotton Bowl.
Hopefully they can pull off the upset in KC at the Big 12 title game.

I will be praying all week that Nebraska beats Oklahoma and makes the BCS, so a fourth loss in the Big 12 title game doesn't ruin a decent season.

After the way I thought UGA's season was headed I'll take the Peach Bowl all day long. It'd be a smart move by Chick Fil A too because Dawg fans would snatch those tix up in one day.

Houston Nutt will probably win the SEC coach of the year but the best coaching job of the last 3 weeks has been of one Mark Richt.

He didn't let the team go in the tank and has now beaten two top 20 teams in a row.

SIX IN A ROW OVER TECH BABY! REG-GIE! REG-GIE!

He shouldn't get this if only because he didn't run a play to put the ball in McFadden's hands with a chance to win the game against LSU and potentially play for a NC. He sure was a great blocker for Dick to not make a play.

Agreed on McFadden. I heard Miles say that he held his breath every time he touched the ball.

Nice win BTW. SEC, she is a bitch.

I just read an article where The Gator Bowl was hoping to get Oklahoma, but will now most likely pick a Big East team. Do to the Texas upset, they might snag the Cotton Bowl and the Holiday Bowl is leaning toward taking A&M, so if Nebraska loses saturday they might end up in the Alamo again.
That is so much BS, granted Texas beat Nebraska, they still lost to two teams that Nebraska beat and failed to secure a conference title appearance. With a gimpy Colt McCoy or Jevan Snead playing, the Longhorns would have trouble beating most of the Big 12 right now.

Maybe but all the bowls are BS. Yes, they want teams with the best records possible but it's also about style points unfortunately. See Urban Meyer's latest rant against the whole system.

Texas has been one of the highest profile programs in the last 3 years. If any bowl has the chance to get them they will. It's all about perception.

Bullshit but reality unfortunately.

True, but Nebraska has an amazing following and you would think the folks of Dallas would rather have fans from Nebraska travelling down there spending a great deal of money instead of a Texas team that plays at the Cotton Bowl once a year in the Red River Rivalry game.
The travelling perception is the same reason the Gator Bowl was going to pick a two loss OU team over a possible one loss Big East team.

I think it probably comes down to advertising dollars and that's why they'll choose Texas.

If the Holiday and Gator Bowl were still option I would prefer they went there instead of Dallas. The Cotton Bowl used to be a stellar game to go to until they moved its start time to 11am on New Years Day and they failed to become one of the BCS games.
Basically it is a 2nd tier bowl in a city that doesn't have the greatest weather for a bowl game.
I'd just rather see the Huskers play a better team than Iowa in a bowl and be rewarded for actually winning their half of the conference.

I really want this to happen and am slightly more optimistic that it will. An Arkansas victory over Florida would make this 3 against 4 in BCS standing, which is perfect.

Yes, a perfect weekend for me this weekend would be victories by USC, Nebraska and Arkansas, since they would make the Trojans BCS numbers better than they were this weekend when they moved to #2.
