hi all,

i'm thinking of ditching my webhoster to save some $ and am thinking of moving my webpages over to a blog. i've tried blogspot and wordpress. i'm looking for the one that's the easiest to use with the most functionality for someone who is a vet web developer.

who here has their own blog not on blogspot or wordpress and can attest to the above? myspace is one i haven't used. any others?

I don't have much personal experience, but LiveJournal's been around the longest, is completely customizable, and is the preference of geeks I know.

wordpress is good, but i'd have to keep switching accounts between dalen & my own, in order to continue to contribute to "a tune a day".

i found i opened a livejournal account in 2004. checking that out now. preferring it to blogspot.

i use livejournal and it's all right for my minimal output. i'm not totally familiar with everything you can adjust in livejournal, but i do know paid accounts (like $25 per year) can do almost anything they want with their pages.

yeah, i saw that. i'd like to avoid paying $ if i can avoid it, but ~$2/month isn't that bad.

Have you tried Xenga? I know nothing about blogs or programming, I just know it's a blog site.

haven't tried that yet. i'll try that from home ...

current results so far:

blogspot = good, but html saved doesn't display as previewed.

wordpress = templates all suck for what i want to do. too screen-width restrictive.

myspace = blog's on a completely separate page. dumb.

livejournal = best i can find to do about all i want.
