Hmmmm..... hmmmmm......
as someone who considers herself pretty informed on Warhol, I find this trailer mildly misleading. People like to think that Warhol created Edie as this amazing icon. The fact is, the girl was beautiful, rich, addicted and sad... I personally don't feel like Warhol's affection for Edie was any more pronounced than that which he felt for Baby Jane Holzer, Candy Darling or Elizabeth Taylor, for that matter. Warhol took what he could from the people around him, for that moment.

Guy Pearce looks nothing like Warhol, but he's got the voice down for sure.

edit: oh, and Hayden Christenson as the love interest? ha....ha ha... HAHAHAHAHAHA!

I'm actually scared to open that link Dana.

I've been against this film since the start. But even moreso due to the horrible casting of Sienna and, well most everyone else. Such horrible miscasting if ever I've seen it.

I too know way too much about Edie and the Factory crowd so I can't bring myself to see the movie.

I will open the link just to see how much of a car crash it is.

Edit: Awful. You can hear both Guy Pearce and Sienna Miller's accents. Give me a flippin break.

Jesus.

I can't think of one reason Sienna Miller can't play Edie Sedgwick.

another travesty is fur starring nicole kidman as diane arbus but at least they put imaginary in the subtitle. i think less than 5% of this movie is based on fact so believe me, they mean it.

Couldn't watch the trailer. Did Bob Dylan make it in the movie?

Bowie is my favorite, followed closely by Crispon Glover who really (not shockingly) nailed the creepy side.

do you share my dislike of nicole kidman?
what's the big deal about her anyway?
she's considered this huge actress, but she always seems so painfully passive and mousey. spooks me out a bit.

I think the horrible Hayden Christenson character is loosely based on Dylan.

I wonder if they have the Christenson character loosely write Like A Rolling Stone for her. Did Dylan threaten to sue or something?

Her acting, for one. It's not the best.

Second, she's a bore.

I don't know. Never really seen her in a film but it seems like I could draw a lot of similarities between Sienna Miller in real life & Edie Sedgewick. Not saying she'll pull it off but I think she can "method" act her way through this if she plays something close to herself.

What movie did her acting ruin for you?

Seen her in clips of Alfie and of Casanova. shudder

I get what you are saying regarding the life similarities but I think that hers are more of the tabloid vs demon kind. That just isn't enough in my book. Plus she's overexposed, she's been in every fashion mag and celeb mag as a one-time style icon that took a dip in the crazy pool

Hell at this point I almost would prefer Katie Holmes had taken the role over Sienna. And that's saying a lot.

I can't imagine worse than Katie Holmes. Might as well put a mannequin.

Too bad they didn't use the first verse in Life on Mars:

...
Now she walks through her sunken dream
to the seat with the clearest view
and she's hooked to the silver screen
but the film is a saddening bore
'cause she's lived it ten times or more
she could spit in the eyes of fools
...

Seems more fitting
