Ha. Not with the current overtime rules. How annoyed would the country be with a tie?

Dad and I have a cool lunch bet based solely on scoring margin. I win if the difference is within 3 or 20-plus. I can't believe the final spread is 7 points.

Prediction: Michigan 14-13.

It sucks that Schembechler died and right before this game. but I don't think this game is really worth all the hype and probably won't come close to reaching Game of the Century status.
It's a good rivalry, but not as great as everyone says. This is the first time they have been #1 and #2 and only the second? time that they have both been unbeaten. Nebraska/Oklahoma and FSU/Miami always seemed to be unbeaten and near the top during their heydays. I know for a fact that Nebraska and OU were #1 and # 2 and unbeaten in 1971, 1987, 2000 and 2001.
I think the Big East race this year has been the most exciting aspect of college football this year.

All depends on your definition of great rivalry, I guess. Part of it's history (first game in 1897) and the insane number of times at an OSU/UM lone loss in a season was to the rival.

Having grown up in no-man's-land (Toledo, Oh; 45 minutes from Ann Arbor), I have a hard time looking at it objectively. ESPN might not be any more objective but still gave a pretty good defense.

The lone loss theory holds true for Nebraska/Oklahoma and Florida State/Michigan as well. I read College Football News stating it is the best rivalry as well. Since Nebraska/Oklahoma is now a dead rivalry it did not make the list. There were so many years in the 80's where Florida State would lose to Miami by a FG and lose out on the title.
I understand hyping this game, since there hasn't been much else to nationally hype this year. I just think that a rivalry that has only produced two titles in the last thirty years and lacks the hatred of Alabama/Auburn deserves to be number one.

I'm biased but IMO the Alabama/Auburn game is a better rivalry that this one. I'm betting the ratings will show that the OSU/UM game was viewed more than the AL/AU game in every state except Alabama.

Ohio St. wins this solely because they're at home.

I thought this was gonna be a defensive battle, but the way Michigan just shreded through their D, this could be high scoring..

I have no dogs in this fight, but for some reason I've never liked Michigan. Not hated, just disliked.

Lloyd Carr is a fucking disgrace, especially if he lets Schembechler's death be in vain.

Well, fuck. At least it looks like it's going to be a blowout, which ensures no rematch. But, yeah, Smith's definitely getting the Heisman. Quinn will have to settle for being the greatest player to never win a Heisman (combine his stats from this year and last, and you'll realize I'm not being ridiculous making this statement).
