My Top 3 will probably be the top three releases in my Top 10, which you can find in the thread where we list our Top 20 (hint: they're the first ten releases listed in my post - I seem to recall they're numbered 1 though 10 or something similar to that).

That Lansing-Dreiden is kind of weird. All the songs on it are just kind of ok individually but in the context of the album they're all pretty good.

Can I give it a shot too? I've never really ventured much into the 'electronic' genre. It does have a pretty cool lookin' album cover.

I've hardly even heard of most of these bands. I am so out of it. I'm not even bothering with a list because I've bought so few 06 releases. Way more older stuff.

not sure my 2 cents matters as I am an infrequent poster... but... albums in contention for my top 3 (in no order)

Ohbijou - Swift Feet for Troubling Times
Appleseed Cast - Peregrine
Maritime - We the Vehicles
TVotR - Return to Cookie Mountain
The Brother Kite - Waiting for the Time to be Right (I'm excited for the love you guys are giving this album)
Annuals - Be He Me

...a good number of others that I like alot, but those listed are the ones that get a lot of spins.

It was mostly a year of me discovering older music and catching up on the last 2 years that were pretty much dominated by Grad School.
