i will. i hear the band is continuing to mature in song writing and seperating themselves from their screamo-popunk past.

I think it's just being released today, it was on AMG's new release newsletter anyway.

Mine in no particular order will probably be:

Tapes 'N Tapes - The Loon
The Format - Dog Problems
Neko Case - Fox Confessor

Also, tell me about Silversun Pickups - Carnavas. I've seen them a couple of times on here but never heard of 'em.

Very little has smacked me in the head all year, although there are a few things I still want to hear, like the Woven Hand sitting next to the cd player here. Got to get to that one tonight. As it is, the best I can do right now is:

1) Willie Nile~ Streets of New York

and 2 more I can't sort out right now.

Not trying to nitpick, but I'm pretty sure Tapes 'n Tapes - The Loon was released in '05 then re-released in '06 when they signed with a bigger label. Not sure if that counts or not, just thought I'd mention it.

Amazon and Metacritic both list The Loon as April, 2006... it was on Cokemachineglow's Best of 2006 (6 month) list. But in addition to Allmusic, T n T's own website talks about an October, 2005 release date... so I guess that's the definitive.

if you dig the Smashing Pumpkins circa Gish/Siamese, you'll prolly love this album. it's freakin' amazing from start to finish. not a bad tune on it imo.

I may decide not to list it as 2006, but man it's pretty great.

sure thing. just give ol' lazy bones here some time.

it's weird; "Springfield" is the only thing I've heard from him so far that I'm not so into. oh well. I'll never marry a dead gay man anyway.
