Martin Newell is still creating wonderful, independent label music.
Stan Ridgway's last album was his best in ten years, also on an indie label.
The new Ike Reilly is splendid, and on an indie label.
Local scenes and DIY releases around the world are still out there.

Boys II Men just played an a capella show at Milwaukee's Miramar. The Miramar, of course, is a local (generally) indie house, around the corner from Atomic and operated (at least in part; on the music side, mostly) in conjunction with the record-store.

So, maybe Boys II Men is into that. Indie-rock, I mean.
