If it's gonna be Neil in the 90's, Sleeps with Angels is a great, great underappreciated work.

I think his voice has really lost something over the years.

His voice got better over the years, and his range extended. Superunknown, Down on the Upside, Euphoria Morning... too bad about Audioslave. What a disappointment. Songwriting wise, not vocally...

[blasphemy] I like that "I like songs about...cos it doesn't remind me of any-thing" song better than any Soundgarden song[/blasphemy]

(But that's not to say I like Audioslave or that song.

If we talking mainstream RAWK, aside from my Oasis choice, whoever mentioned VS. has teh smrt

I was referring to Audioslave mostly. Euphoria Morning was great. And supposedly there's another solo record coming from him eventually. We'll see how that goes. But I really don't think he could pull off anything like 'Jesus Christ Pose' vocally nowadays.

Not only is The Bends my favorite Rock (or any other genre) album of the '90s, it's easily my favorite album of all time. Siamese Dream and Alligator are in my Top 5. My head is hurting trying to come up with two more, though. Mezzanine, Achtung, Is This It?, Dummy, Stone Roses, Lost Souls, Soft Bulletin, and because it was my gateway to the rest of Zeppelin when I was 13, Houses of the Holy. Plus, I needed a '70s representative.

p.s. High and Dry/Fake Plastic is my favorite back-to-back songs on an album. Engine Driver/Bus Mall, you finish second place.

I don't know if this is a joke or not, but Korn's debut is pretty damn good.

You, sir, are preaching to the choir. Planet Telex demands attention right from the start and I'm a captive audience until Street Spirit fades out. I still have the original CD I bought in 1995 and it's surface looks like it was raped by a razor blade, yet it somehow ripped to my hard drive a few years ago and not a month passes that I do not listen to this masterpiece. OK Computer deserves plaudits, but this thing is a monster that will be considered a touchstone recording twenty years hence, much the way many Beatles records are now regarded.

so I know that I'm probably alone on this but I think that the best album of the 90's is Bis' The New Transitor Hero's, granted it's incrediably childish and idealistic, but then again so was I in the 90's
