The "shitty" calls were just make-ups for the biased calls in the first half. If you're seriously going to bitch about the refs, I'll break it out. But I'll just leave it at they were overall fair through the entire game.

i was just talking about the 2 pass interference calls against the pats that the defenders actually turned around to look at the pass vs. the one against the bears that the guy didn't even turn around on. if you're gonna whine about that field goal call, you guys got us back when you called the late timeout...which didn't even work.

I don't know why I let myself get so emotionally invested in the Bears, year after year. It's a rollercoaster ride that's draining my psychological health and yet I come back for more every Fall.

Some thoughts:

The Pats beat us handily, no question that they are the better team right now. The scoreboard shows it was only by 4 points but it should have been more. Great control and play by Brady, Maroney, and the usual excellent coaching by Belichick despite his depleted secondary AND the recent injuries today. Notice that Hester really never got a chance to get any punt returns? Smart move, he's dangerous.

I'm so frustrated because Grossman had so many chances to win this one. Sure, he may have hurt his hand early but he made some very poor decisions throughout, especially at the end. What a bad Hail Mary type throw, pure garbage. To his defense he was pressured all day by a good Patriot d-line. I say let a rookie be a rookie though and he's definitely showing it with only what, 16 games under his belt? Some flashes of brilliance early in the season but he's sure struggling now. The Bears will need to stick with him but he's going to need to step up if he's going to compete in the playoffs this year. That constant passing to Moose and Berrian sure did not help much. Grossman needs to spread the ball around more and start using that effective fullback McKie and Thomas Jones, who has shown he can be an effective receiver too. The Bears continue to struggle in the red zone. The offense has no killer instinct.

Boy we sure missed not having Manning Jr. and Alex Brown today. NO SACKS by the defense and how could Urlacher get juked so easily by Brady? Embarrassing.

(sigh)

Was I just seeing things or does Urlacher have a tattoo on his lower back?

I'm just excited the J.P. Losman is finally starting to not suck. Doubt he'll keep it up against SD though.

In an unrelated topic, goon hockey is back!

I think the Saints should pick up some of the Falcons Wide Receiver's salary. Criminally bad. 3 first round draft picks too and Matt Millen didn't draft em'.

Remember when the east coast media was pumping up the NFC East?

I was just telling a guy at the Quik Trip that Roddy White should be sent to the Saints because he already knows how to help them win.

I really don't know what else to say about the Falcs other than this: This is the Falcons. Most of the country hasn't been paying attention to this franchise until these last few years, but I've been watching them for 25+ years and this is pretty much status quo. Its frighteningly comforting because for a second there I though we might be an actual NFL team, but nope-- we're just the Falcons.

The wheels have officially come off of the Falcons train. There are so many reasons we suck. 2nd year in a row we've had a winning record at the halfway point only to watch us shit the bed.

Yesterday's game is decided by 2 plays. Deangelo "It's all about me" Hall trying to intercept the hail mary pass instead of knocking it down and Roddy "shouldn't be an NFL Europe player" White dropping a sure TD after it hit him in the hands with no one within 5 yards of him.

Factor in Vick flipping off the fans and you've got a nice shit stew going on down here. Complete debacle.

Maybe we can lose the rest of our games and get in the Calvin Johnson sweepstakes because we need more unproven receivers.

The best part of the game was Crumpler. At one point in the game, I thought he was going to fight his own team.

If Vick actually throws you a capable ball, you'd better catch it cause who knows when it's gonna happen again. I think Dunn is under used too.

Me too. Between him and Coach Mora actually dropping to his knees when Roddy missed that ball there was a lot of frustration.

Vick actually throws a pretty nice ball when he sets his feet, but yesterday he was getting flushed on every play. Terrible day for the O-line.

Another note on the Saints: Was Sean Payton around Bill Parcells so long that its like those married couples or pet owners who start to look like each other? Because minus the man-tits and twenty years, dude looks just like the Tuna.

Yeah, there was a time when he seemed to have ice in his veins, but the comments by Mr. Blank, and the almost inexplicable play of the WRs yesterday had him looking like a guy who sees the career dissipation light going into high gear.

For what its worth I think the guy deserves the dreaded "fire the offensive and defensive coordinators and see how it works for another year" fate instead of just open shitcanning.

Oh, I wouldn't advocate canning Mora at this point. Unless he cries on television like his punk pops. Speaking of whom, if I were Mi Vih, I'd drive to wherever he is, and rock him in the grill.

Does this bother you as much as it does me? I thought for sure I was going to see that image of him on his knees on the front page of the AJC today.

I'm all about passion and enthusiasm but can you ever imagine Bill Cowher, Bill Bellichek, or Parcells on their fucking knees on the sideline?

Best comment I've seen re: the above photo -- Aren't those the two guys that were heckling Michael Richards? Havn't they stirred up enough trouble?

The security guard has a look on his face like "Damn, L'il Nigga, you about to get in some Trub"
