We can't go on hurting each other day and night night and day.

The creepiest love songs can be found watching Lawrence Welk reruns on PBS.

Winner.

"I can taste our tender kisses. I can tell you've never been this far before"

That + his permullet combine to make this creepy as fuck

This song is filled with classic lines:

" don't know what i'm saying
as my trembling fingers touch forbidden places
i only know that i have waited
for so long for the chance that we are taking"

"and you're wondering if tomorrow
i'll still love you like i'm loving you tonight
you have no way of knowing
but tonight will only make me love you more"

I LOVE Conway Twitty and that song is great. Up there with Afternoon Delight for sheer how the fuck do morally snobbish people like this?

Did I miss Michael Jackson - PYT? Cause that's the first thing I thought of.

haha. Yeah. I forgot about that one. It's not just creepy dudes in a bar. I am pretty sure every man has had one of those moments at least one time in their life. OPA! included. I am sure he's bent some chap over in his mind before. :)

I've always found Lou Christie's "Lightnin' Strikes" to be pretty creepy.

It's like a rape song, with him singing about how he can't stop and the female vocals in the chorus singing "Stop!"

Quote:
When I see lips beggin' to be kissed (stop)
I can't stop (stop)
I can't stop myself
(Stop, stop)

If she gives me a sign
That she wants to make time (stop)
I can't stop (stop)
I can't stop myself
(Stop, stop)

If she's put together fine
And she's readin' my mind (stop)
I can't stop (stop)
I can't stop myself
(Stop, stop)

Oh yeah, that reminds me of the Hollies "Stop Stop Stop," which is supposed to be a cute song about a guy overcome by a sexy bellydancer, but comes across more like a borderline psycho repeatedly attacking a stripper.

Quote:
:notes: Now she's moving all around the tables
Luring all in sight
But I know that she cannot see me
Hidden by the light

Closer, closer she is getting nearer
Soon she'll be in reach
As I enter into a spotlight
She stands lost for speech

Stop, stop, stop all the dancing
Give me time to breathe
Stop, stop, stop all the dancing
Or I'll have to leave

Now I hold her, people are staring
Don't know what to think
And we struggle, knocking over tables
Spilling all the drinks

Can't they understand that I want her
Happens every week
Heavy hand upon my collar
Throws me in the street

I've said it before re: the Hollies' lyrics--once 30 year old men get to their 8th consecutive single about playing hopscotch with their schoolgirl crush, it gets a little creepy.

I suppose Barry Manilow singing "come" repeatedly in "Could It Be Magic" creeps a few people out.

the lyrics look fairly innocent unless you know the backstory that it was written as an apology to his wife from his jail cell while he was serving 6 months for the statutory rape of a fan during the mid 40's. It actually hit no. 1 on the country charts.

Lou Reed had to make this thread:

This is the place where she lay her head
When she went to bed at night
And this is the place our children were conceived
Candles lit the room brightly at night

And this is the place where she cut her wrists
That odd and fateful night
And I said, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, what a feeling
And I said, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, what a feeling

This is the place where we used to live
I paid for it with love and blood
And these are the boxes that she kept on the shelf
Filled with her poetry and stuff

And this is the room where she took the razor
And cut her wrists that strange and fateful night
And I said, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, what a feeling
And I said, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, what a feeling

I never would have started if Id known
That its end this way
But funny thing, Im not at all sad
That it stopped this way

This is the place where she lay her head
When she went to bed at night
And this is the place our children were conceived
Candles lit the room brightly at night

And this is the place where she cut her wrists
That odd and fateful night
And I said, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, what a feeling
And I said, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, what a feeling

I still don't understand how Michael Jackson is losing with PYT considering the context.
