Here's the first of my 2006 Top 10 compilations. Each mix has a printable cover included.

I decided to start with the Experimental/Ambient tunes first, because they're some of my favorite pieces of music released this year.

Hope you guys enjoy.

Great list...

Not sure how broad you define ambient....

Here are some others I enjoyed this year:

Benoit Pioulard
One Second Bridge
The North Sea and Rameses III
B. Fleischmann
Six Organs of Admittance
Herbert
Lindstrom & Prins Thomas

Superb releases from these artists this year, and it was very hard to compile my Top 10. Benoit's release is in my Top 20 for the year. He's releasing an EP on Type in 2007!

I really like that B. Fleischmann a lot...surprised it hasn't seemed to get any more attention than it has.

As long as we're in the genre...I've also listened to ISAN Plans Drawn in Pencil a ton this year.

Gonna have to download this mix to listen to later on. Now...if you'd only start posting them in lossless FLAC we'd really be in business.

Looking forward to the Dubstep since I've only heard one album that I've heard in reference to the genre and it was really good. I think that's what I heard someone call Burial.

I snagged this. That Xela "Tangled Wool" album is great for puttin a ninja to sleep. (I mean that in a good way)
