I'm not sure if there are other Wedding Present / Cinerama fans on obner or not. I would just like to take this opportunity to say that I think Gedge is underrated as a songwriter and singer. I can think of few songwriters today who can move me with such raw, gut-wrenching emotion. His lyrics are simple, and at times almost cliché, but they are delivered with such sleazy honesty and emotion that the bluntness is easily forgiven. and IMHO, The often unpolished nature of the production on WP and Cinerama albums only helps to augment the sincerity of it all.

I was listening to Take Fountain on my lunch break. I had pretty much dismissed it after a couple of listens when it came out, but today it hit me hard. Now i'm pretty sure i'll be listening to it regularly.

That being said, I get the sense that Gedge must be a real womanizer and sleazeball as a partner in a relationship. Not someone I would recommend getting involved with....

I discovered Take Fountain in the bins for 0.99 recently and was pleasantly surprised.

I picked up "Present" at Tower in a fire sale.. singles for Take Fountain and outtakes and a DVD. I think I own all Wedding Present full lengths and most of Cinerama. I love me some WP and the new stuff sounds great if you were into the old stuff.

When Wedding Present are touring again, you really should go see them. Great show!

I don't have any Cinerama, but the Weddoes were a staple of colege radio years and I still like them a lot.
