movie #4 was a disappointment for me. i think the direction was lacking compared to #3, which is my favorite so far. #3 was less a kiddie movie and did well exploring the darker side to harry's world. i'm hoping #5 returns to form.

#4 was one of the most boring movies I have ever watched.

Isn't 7 books a little excessive?

Robert Jordan's Wheel of Time series is finishing at twelve, and a lot of people don't seem to mind.

Depends on context IMHO. 7-year school + one book per year = 7 books, and I think that works. Excess would begin with book 8 and HP's adventures as a gradute (if he lives) or a switch to Ron/Hermione as protagonists (if Harry dies and/or they're alive at the end of book 7).

5 is a pretty dark story, and focuses a lot on the adults, so I have high hopes. However, Director David Yates appears to be nobody.

I can't wait till she kills him off in the last book and everyone freaks out about it.
Also has the chick decided whether or not she is going to sign on for the rest of the movies?

well, #4 was a dark story, it just wasn't communicated well. poor editing too.

attaching a near-done-nothing director doesn't leave much hope, but i'll see it anyway.
:)

Yes, I wasn't about to misspell her name since I don't really follow the Potter mania.

I'm just funnin' ya. I enjoy HP, myself, as well as LOTR. But there is no way I'll EVER pass up an opportunity to post the Ogre pic when even remotely applicable.

Oh no shit. Every few years I stumble across the next paperback in that series, read it, and then get pissed because once again it's nowhere near as good as the first 3 or 4 were, and because he's written like 10,000 pages without realizing that he has the characters do the same stupid shit every few pages ("...and she tugged her braid in frustration" or "smoothed her skirt" etc). And yet I keep reading, because those first 4 were gooood.

yes, Nerd, I know.

She has been pretty adamant about not writing another novel as soon as 7 is done. And with all the cash she has made, she will never need to.
