Volebeats did a pretty good cover of Slayer's Die By The Sword.

I want The Hold Steady to cover "Best That You Can Do (Arthur's Theme" by Christopher Cross, but with one slight lyrical modification:

"When you get stuck between the moon and Ybor City..."

Strictly for my own personal amusement, I would really get a kick out of Mark Kozelek doing a cover of "Velcro Fly" by ZZ Top.

It just cracks me up to envision his morose monotone delivery of lines like "You need just enough of that sticky stuff to hold the seams of your fine blue jeans."

My new obsession is Lucero doing "Sam Stone" ala Jason and the Scorchers' version of "Absolutely Sweet Marie"

(Why I am thinking of Sam Stone on Thanksgiving, please, don't even ask ;) )

I am gonna go see em next saturday, and scream for this the whole time.

I would love to hear an entire night of current bands covering Kraftwerk. Everyone from High on Fire to The Notwist, The Devics, Calexico...you name it. L, even Kylie Minogue (although she kind of already did with "Slow").

I really want Bruce to do "Personality Crisis" - I think his Jersey Southern Accent and weird phrasing would make it awesome.

Next person to see him, make a poster for the "Stump the Band" section!

I've been digging the Iron & Wine version of "Love Vigilantes" as of late.

Id like to hear these two covers though the first wouldnt be a stretch at all...

1. Neko Case covering Carly Simon's "You're So Vain"
2. John Vanderslice covering The Cars "Just What I Needed"

The swing of the E Street Band would do great justice to "It's Not Enough" --especially if Miami Steve sang it.
