All they have is a four song ep right now (full length debut 23 Jan.), but it's my current repeat listen.

Their Myspace page here.

Yeah, I'm a bit excited for January, now with at least two releases I am eagerly awaiting (the Shins, as well).

Have you heard the leak of that Shins yet? If not, it might extinguish your eagerness once you hear it. It ain't terrible, but it's all kinds of meh.

Dri has been talking up the Bird and Bee for a long time now. I frankly kinda ignored it because the name "The Bird and the Bee" is just awful. It sounds like they should be opening for the Poo Poo Bears.

I was reading about them this weekend and discovered that they are Inara George's band. Inara George is Lowell George's daughter. Mike Andrews is apparently their producer and all kinds of heavyweights have played with Inara George solo including Bobby Hutcherson. I'm a lot more intrigued although the stuff on the myspace page didn't do much for me.

This reminds me of a jazzier Imogen Heap.

That is a Gott Damn lie. Stacey don't you listen to him. It is the Goodness, I can assure you.

And yes, it's been leaked everywhere, but I applaud you for purchasing it.

The Shins is actually not bad. It doesnt have the "you've never heard of us before" appeal of Oh, Inverted World, but it also isn't as blah as Chutes Too Narrow. All in all, a very listenable release.

Missed this thread originally, but I got this in the mail a couple days ago. Really digging it after only a couple listens. itunes rips it as "Bird & Bee" for whatever reason. Also in the Parasol package was the '96 Herbert re-issue, Sally Shapiro, Apples in Stereo, CYHSY, Broken West, LSD and the Search for God, Early Years, and Youth Group, so it will be sharing time with those. Not to mention that new Of Montreal is finding it's way to my ears more and more. Menomena and Shins are also competing for my attention. This year is starting with a bang. Thoughts on any of these rekkids I just mentioned?
