That modest mouse record is very mediocre.

Elbow at 138.

I guess music tastes are about as diverse as they can gets.

It is an awesome achievement though... love it every year....!

That is because Elbow was last year and placed number 35 for 2003. Yoko was also last year and place in the Top 10.

As always excellent job Shmoo and the list looks very good.

Do I have this right: 122 people voted and 507 albums selected?

I'll fix the Electrelane and Gris Gris.

This is why I used the drop-down list this year, and why I complained when people still wrote-in albums that were on the list (I had the wrong spelling of Electrelane on the list though, so that one is my fault).

I like it. Surprised to see Autolux in the top 100, though. In a good way. :o

Cripes. 505 cds there, many of which I haven't heard. And there's at least a hundred others I heard this year that I liked that aren't on there. That's a crapload of music. Not only can I not buy all that, there's no time to absorb it all, in any setting (download, online, on radio, etc). No wonder some groups never sell more than a thousand copies but wind up with diehard fans anyway. There's just too much music for anyone to get a handle on all of it. You've gotta pretty much settle on whatever you do have time for.

Yeah it is now.

I didn't like it (or love it) until after I made my top 50, though.

Right now I'm kind of upset I didn't list it higher AND because I saw their new album in some store the other day and didn't get it because I thought it was a live album.

Four points requires only a minimum of one person to vote for it.

Modest Mouse didn't make my top 20 but I'm watching them on PBS right now and it's pretty cool.
