get this....
cold roses is ryan adams and the cardinals (whoever that is) to be a double lp, released april 19

29 produced by ethan johns (who, i believe, has worked with emmylou harris)

jacksonville produced by thomas schick (who worked on rufus wainwright, willy mason, angela mccluskey, tears for fears, and RA)

no word on the other two release dates

spring summer and fall tour

holy crap. you know how we all complain that the dude needs an editor? i'm such a big fan, i hope this is not the case, but the fear is there.

then again, when i got the 3 "bedhead" discs, leaked on p2p, iwas still really impressed.

HOLY COW

I think I heard this same bit a few years back.....RYAN ADAMS TO RELEASE 27 ALBUMS IN 27 DAYS.

Johns has produced a lot of Adams' other solo work; Heartbreaker, Gold, etc)

I'm not complaining though; I mostly like homeboy just fine, but I would imagine he's got some haters around here, right?

It's like restaurant food in the midwest. It tastes like crap, but damn if they don't give you a lot of it.

He jumped the shark when he let Adam Duritz appear on one of his albums. That, and the whole "almost every show is a drunken trainwreck of half-sung, half-shouted song fragments and rants" thing. Just knowing what the guy is like these days ruins any enjoyment I may derive from his older releases.

<--------- Not a fan. And I wish he wouldn't use my home town's name as the title to one of these.

There's a mouse in my bottle!

I'll probably pick up most of this stuff Adams is crankin' out this year...I dig him. And as far as the "midwest food" comment goes, I ate at Chicken Annie's in Pittsburg KS Wednesday nite & was so blown away I bought the fuckin' T-shirt. Harumph.

There was/is a place called Cohen's in Junction City, next to The American Hotel, famous for Tim McVeigh having stayed there, that serves up some fried chicken fo' yo' ass, boy...haven't thought of that joint in forever. Used to go there after church when I was a lad...

I have an aunt & uncle who live in Junction City...never been there myself. Actually, I've never been west of Manhattan.

I grew up on Chicken Annie's but hadn't been there in probably 15 years. And it hadn't changed ONE BIT. Also - the greatest onion rings known to man.

Fuck...now I wanna drive the 2 hours & go AGAIN.

Although he is actually using his own hometown as the title to one of those.
