We got the bunny ears sittin' on top of our tee-vee and I'm curious as to who else is still living in the 70's.

When the topic is broached, there are more people without than I thought there were.

And if you don't... why not?

we don't because we had just moved to the 'burbs and were getting our budget acclimated to having kids. Now, we just don't miss it and see no reason why we should pay for TV. PBS fills that "void" very nicely, thank you very much.

Plus, our oldest is a TV head and he watches enough crap as it is, so we don't want to encouage him by giving him a choice of even more channels. He can watch PBS too, damnit.

My aunt and uncle don't have cable. I think he was an alderman for their town and had an issue with one of the cable companies so he's holding a grudge against them.

And we didn't used to really have cable in my house. I mean we had it but only in mine and another girl's room. The rest of the house thought cable was "evil".

I currently have it, but am in the final stages of building a media center with an old(er) computer I have lying around loaded with 2 HD tuner cards and other goodies. When this is done, I will cancel my cable service.

My cable comes with my rent, thus I have it. I never had cable when I lived alone, since I really don't crave watching tv.

I only watch news, weather and the occassional sports event.

When the British Government cuts off the analogue broadcasting in 2008 I don't think I'll bother going digital.

I had it for free for one year, but apart from that I haven't had it since 1993.

I have 3-in-1 digital cable, phone, high speed

Economically sensible considering our long distance calls and computer usage.

Paying for phone and high speed separately would be nearly as much and I'd still have to pay for long distance calls.

This way, they're free.

i don't understand this. even with a built in QAM tuner i still only get the local channels in hidef without the cable box. aren't you still going to need the cable subscription to get anything out of the media center?

The only interest I have in TV is watching DVDs, and not much of them, at that. Hell, it's an old RCA 19"-er, with rabbit ears, too.

And on dial-up, too! And right now, I'm listening to my MiniDisc player.

Ha! We are. The ears get moved around the room a bit. And, the occasional plane flying over totally disrupts recption.

We have a very basic cable package, which is pretty much the four networks, a few local access channels, PBS, and TBS.

We got rid of the cable when we bought our condo and needed to save cash. It was also in preparation for diapers in our budget. We have since got a free tivo that has a lifetime subscription which rules. We never miss any shows and always have a back log of stuff to watch.

Plus we have piles of dvd's that I have bought on black friday deals.

I do miss being able to watch the occasional sporting event, like Monday night football, or Cincinnati Bearcats basketball, or last night's Thursday night football,
