Tonight: Femjack's company xmas party which, thankfully, is at a local pub that has an awesome beer selection. The fun and games for this party is both a pool and foosball competition, so all things considered, it's probably gonna be pretty fun.

Tomorrow: Probably chill out with some junk food and red wine. Likely watch Miami Vice.

Sunday: Back to organizing for the move.

i'm going to see the dears again tonight. i wasn't too impressed with them last year and i still have never heard a full album of theirs, but enough people think they're great live that i'm giving them another chance.

tomorrow i'm playing records at a craft fair. i really have no idea how that will turn out, but i'm looking forward to maybe testing out a few things for a different type of audience. and then i'm seeing el vez in the evening. it'll be the first time i've seen his christmas show. anyone been to one?

sunday is open, but i feel like i should start on the xmas shopping because now i've actually consulted with people and have an idea of what to get almost everyone.

They are great live. If you get a record I'd recommend either the first one (End of a Hollywood Bedtime Story) or the second one (No Cities Left). The first one is pretty rough sounding but it remains my fav. The second is prolly their best all-round.

The new one has some great tunes on it but isn't my favorite. But even with the new songs that don't blow my mind no the record, I still always love seeing them play live. Murray is one of the most talented musicians out there and George (their drummer) is my hero, I love watching him live... he's like Animal. :)

Tonite: Get drunk and tell of FemJack's Now EX-coworkers. Either run the tourneys, or alternately, take a shit on the foosball table and piss in the pool pockets.

Tmrw: Continue Bender

Sunday: Say "Fuck packin' We burnin this joinmt down when we leave"

Me? Oh I gots ta git hitched. Either this thing goes off well, or The Bham New headlines will say "Unidentified Giant Gets Drunk and Tears The City Apart"

We're relocating to Lethbridge at the end of the month, but our stuff is getting moved out on the 19th and into storage until after the holidays. Not the best time to move, but we weren't passing on an opportunity to get the hell out of here.

I'd rather see a CNN Headline or Yahoo! News headline that reads Would-be Behemoth Groom goes on drunken rampage in Birmingham, but I'm hoping it goes well for you.

Yeah when yah gotta move, yah gotta move. I have a feeling that sometimes you can find good places in the winter. And a friend at work pointed out that it's much better than moving in July when it's really hot and you end up spending your summer inside packing and unpacking. good luck.

tonight be drinking and then the rest of the weekend, I'm installing some baseboard heaters in my kids rooms. They deserve a little heat too....I guess. (Child protection services is making me give them heat.)
And we have the office Christmas party on a cruise ship and I get seasick, so that should be fun.

Ok, I lied, they aren't making me put in the heaters, but the kids will like it.

You know, this is probably the more likely scenario if the taps at the pub hold out. She's already told those EX-coworkers that I'm probably gonna get wrecked and ruin the pool tournament with some Vincentesque moves from The Colour of Money. God help them all if 'Werewolves of London' comes on.

OFF WITH THEIR HEADS!!

GARZILLA!!!! RUN FO YO LIIIVVVESS!!!!!

I'll be periodically toasting your good fortune all day on Saturday, chummy. In fact, I might even get some really fine President's Champagne to do it up right. If I'm not there in person, I'll be there in spirits.

oh yeah, i remember george. when i saw them last year, the shout out louds opened and their drummer was at a wedding, so george filled in and he totally made their set great. thanks for the album recommendations. i'll see how their merch looks tonight. i figure i'll get something if they're good since i'm on the list.

(not to derail a weekend thread, but does anyone else feel that way - that you should buy something from the merch table when you're guest-listed and the bands are really good?)

I always try to buy something from the merch table, unless I've seen the band a bunch of times. I think if you are guest-listed and they aren't your close friends, you should definitely buy something.

Just in time for the warm-up!
(In the mid-40's all weekend... we should see some idiots out on in shorts and no jacket!)
