My favourite Christmas song is the Can version of 'Silent Night'.

I don't have a link to it though.

Aren't those mixes essentially the Maybe this Christmas complilations with a few added tracks?

Where's the Run DMC, the Sonics and Low?

I prefer the Low christmas album. Speaking of which, they are playing their chirstmas show tonight at First Ave. The wife and I might try to make it.

Don't have it on CD/mp3, but I belive that I gave a callout last year to:
The Christmas Jug Band - "Santa Lost a Ho"

My answer never really changes from year to year:

"Fairytale of New York" - The Pogues

sorry I don't have it to post.

And also... although it's not technically a Christmas record:

Mazzy Star - "Dissapear" and "Flowers in December' from Among My Swan

Here's one from a Christmas mix. I lost the track listing, so I don't remeber the actual name or artist. It is ambient and simple. If anyone recognizes it I'd appreciate the title and artist.

I don't think I've ever heard a better song that happened to be about Christmas than Petty's "It's Christmas Time (Again)" -I think it's called. Come to think of it, it has Jeff Lynn written all over its catchy $3 chord changes, so maybe he wrote it. Either way, it slays.

Yeah it's called "It's Christmas (All Over Again)." The CD here at work has Gone Gator as the publishing copyright, so looks like Petty wrote it.

Two great "about-God" tracks ( I can post them later):
Jackson Browne/The Chieftains - "The Rebel Jesus"
Bruce Cockburn - "Cry Of A Tiny Babe"
