I think it is called a guilty pleasure because the guilt comes in because even though I admit to liking that new single, I am still ashamed of it. I feel guilty for feeling ashamed for liking that single. I also wouldn't by the album.
I guess it is more of an idiom than anything else but damn dude. Just presume to know what I mean. It ain't quite as literal as you took it. whewf.
I love Destiny's Child but I'm embarassed to play them at a level audible enough that anyone else could hear. Hence, guilty pleasure.
Back on topic:
I can't think of anything from this year. That Timberlake I find painful and I haven't heard Gwen's Sound Of Music ripoff yet but, if it's anything like her Fiddler On The Roof ripoff, I'm sure I'll hate it. Fergie is awful too.
