She was a lot of fun to see live. Truthfully I don't really know her music that much, just heard a few songs here and there. She had a whole horn section with her, and she was just on it! It was really packed so it was hard to dance, but we still had a great time. Her music did get a little repetitive after a while, but I would still recommend seeing her live if she's in town.

Also she is pretty cute. And has this too cool for school attitude which was kinda hot.

i wouldn't go and listen to the album but the single is pretty damn good. nice catchy chorus, nothing really worth hating on.

I agree, LDN is a good tune. Everything else I've heard, not so much.

hmm. when she did her first la appearance, it was okay but i thought her stage presence was horrible and she lacked energy on stage although i do enjoy the record.

it could've also been the fact that it was such an industry show so she wa s probably nervous.

glad you had fun.

I would say that she lacked energy, but the music did not. She wasn't jumping all over the place, but she still had this sort of calm cool presence about her.

I like the album...except for that stupid robbie williams sounding song...and to be fair, she's even mentioned how much she hates it.

I picked up the album yesterday and i think's pretty great. This will be a fantastic summer album.

How someone couldn't like "Nan, You're a Window Shopper" and the "Smile" remix is beyond me.

It is quite disturbing how attractive she is when she pretty much looks like her dad.

ONION review of Alright, Still

Major-label logic is getting harder and harder for ordinary citizens to figure out. Between foisting Hinder on the world and siccing the feds on DJ Drama and Don Cannon for "bootlegging" hip-hop mix-tapes sanctioned, in part, by the labels themselves (hiphopmusic.com's Jay Smooth nailed it when he recently noted that any rapper who continues to make profits for the conglomerates is, in effect, a snitch), it's hard to know what they're thinking.

Something similar applies to Capitol's decision to delay its American release of Alright, Still, the debut album of Londoner Lily Allen. Issued last July in England, and pumped on MySpace for some time before, Alright, Still is a classic summer album; its bright, bubbly sonic palette features ingenious swipes from vintage ska, Professor Longhair, and calypso, recalling De La Soul's debut. Allen herself is reminiscent of another critics' darling, the Liz Phair of Exile In Guyville. Alright, Still is a tongue-unheld tour of jerky ex-boyfriends ("Smile"), clueless dudes on the prowl ("Knock 'Em Out"), and the seedier aspects of her hometown ("LDN"). In an era that makes the Eisenhower administration seem like a hotbed of forward-thinking feminism, it's bracing to hear a woman snap back at the Hinders of the world on "Not Big": "How would it make you feel if I said you never made me come? / In the year and a half that we spent together, yeah, I never really had much fun."

Granted, no matter how irresistible she is, boosting Cat Stevens's "Wild World" for "Littlest Things" still grates, and the album does wind down toward the end—though it picks up some on "Nan You're A Window Shopper" and the bonus cuts added to the U.S. edition. But a great summer record it remains, even in the dead of winter.

A.V. Club Rating: A-

(Reviewed by Michaelangelo Matos... Of whom I only know from him being the curator of the Jackin' Pop year-end extravaganza at Idolator. He seems like an atypical ONION reviewer, though. Not too scene to like anything that's clearly not (I'm looking at Kyle Ryan & Nathan Rabin, here), nor too much of an hard-ass (I'm looking at Keith Phipps, here).)

This song's really bland which is a shame because I really liked that other song I heard from her.

Josh was pretty funny as we were just watching her on SNL.

Neither of us had heard her before but of course heard so much and so many people rave about her(including here).

Ten seconds after she opened her mouth he said " Boring". And "boring" was what he kept saying every thirty seconds til she finished.

I had to agree. I kept trying, trying, trying to find something fun about her. I couldn't.

Yeah she's no airheaded pop slut obviously, the retro early 60's look is hot. But musically she's rather meh.

I first heard of her/saw her when I saw the clip for "Smile" last fall. Great clip - Here's a WMP version. Infectious pop with that reggae rhythm could only come from the UK. Me likey. The SNL performance of that song made me get up and bop. :) (Watching on the projector I have set up for tomorrow's game doesn't hurt either!)
