I (edit: no longer ) cringe whenever Rex takes the field now.

Tonight's stats: 13/20, 200 yards, 2TD's, 0 INT

YESSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS!

Division is clinched, and technically we have a 3 game lead in the NFC since we're undefeated in the conference. You gotta stick with Rex at the very least against the Rams (going to that game, wooo!), and I'd say even against the Bucs. If he performs as badly as he has recently, then the final two games of the season should be more than enough for a vet like Griese to get acclimated.

Grossman is still a young, inexperienced quarterback. His potential is too great to bench him just yet.

But then again, this is Chicago. What do we know about patience and developing a QB? 2nd string is always the most popular guy in town.

Rex is small and stubborn... not a good combo. He should thrive against these crappy defenses coming up, but he hasn't been able to pick apart a defense with a pulse all season. Bad news for the playoffs.

I get that but JESUS dude. I don't even know how you would calculate a 1.3 passer rating.

You fuckers are a having a ridiculous season right now and need to be thinking playoffs already.

Griese and Orton must really be beyond shitty.

How long do you stick with a guy if he's that bad?

i've tried to remain a grossman fan, but he makes it very difficult. give him the first half vs. STL. if no progress, bring in griese.

If the Bears and Vikings had switched quarterbacks before the game, it may have helped both teams....

I was at the game yesterday. Man, I didn't know it was that bad.

The thing is, I think Lovie was in Tampa when Griese started there. There must be something he really doesn't like about that guy, because he put up decent numbers.

Potential means nothing if you're a high-variance stone-chucker. Give me a game manager.

Agreed. He's become a liability lately.

Personally, I'd give him the entire Rams game and at least the first half against the Bucs. 2 1/2 games to close out the season + two weeks before our first play-off game should be more than enough time for Griese to get in sync.

Rex hasn't played more than 3 NFL games in a row before this season. And the last time he played a full season was, what, five years ago in college? He's on game twelve now, maybe his body is just getting tired. Who knows.

If they leave him in for all four games not showing any improvement and then he pulls a Miami/Arizona/NE/Vikings in the play-offs, I'll be very upset.

Ok folks. More than half the first quarter is over. Let's stop talking about Grossman.

Leave the Pats out of this, bub. They have always had trouble with the Dolphins. :)

Man, what an amazing game. Great resurgence by Rex that should pretty much silence the naysayers about his ability.

Hester is just unbelievable at this point. Instead of developing him in the CB position Lovie should consider using him on offense, even as a decoy if nothing else.

Super Bears, Super Bowl. We're on our way.

I am no naysayer, but there is not much of a chance that the Bears will make it past the first round. :)

You suspiciously sound like you're saying nay.

I'm rooting for my team, but rex is such a coin toss. It's either solid play or solid waste.

if i were a bears fan...

i'd worry because grossman only looks good when the bears are in the lead. i'd worry because their vaunted defense showed a bunch of holes last night.

i'd relax knowing chicago is probably the best team in the nfc when it comes to being strong in all 3 stages of the game. i'd relax knowing they have a creampuff schedule the rest of the way, opening the playoffs as seed #1 in their wintry hell after an opening bye.

Nice comeback game by Grossman. But Hester's still carrying the scoring load for this team right now.
