I tend to agree with their belief in the brilliance of "Crazy". Anyone who doesn't have it in their top songs of the year is being a bit unrealistic.

<= unrealistic

i somehow came upon this song late in the game and became more caught up with the entire album than this one track in particular.

Yeah, I haven't heard anything except that song. I heard about them for 3-4 months before I even heard "Crazy" and was disappointed. Don't get me wrong, it's a great party song but as far as songs of the year go I think it falls woefully short.

I remember the year "Hey Ya" came out and it was the song of the year, it felt like a phenomenon. "Crazy" doesn't have that for me.

There's a lot that I don't like about this list...one thing is their choice of song from certain artists. For Lily Allen, I would have picked "LDN" years before "Smile", ditto TV on the Radio and "Wolf Like Me", ditto YYY's, ditto Be Your Own Pet...

Well, thanks to the Springsteen song, I'm batting 1 for 100 on that list.

You know, I've never actually sat down and listened to that song from start to finish. I have only heard it out and about, at clubs, etc. Because it has been so ubiquitous I have not had the desire to get the song and listen to it, but maybe I should.

If #4 was #1, this list would rule.

"Steady as She Goes" is a fucking AWESOME rock single, right up there with "Seven Nation Army"

I heard this song today. Is it intentionally the Veronicas song with different vocals or not, because someone told me it was...

i didn't click the link, this is the critics/writers list, not a reader's poll?

anyway, i too find it surprisingly tolerable, though i wonder if that's because RS finally took their heads out of their asses or because 2006 was a great year for singles...

And Rolling Stone continues to ride out Fall Out Boy and Panic! as though they were Nirvana.

Can we keep it to music from this year guys?

BTW seeing Silversun Pickups getting lumped in with TI, The Roots and Chris Brown = awesome!

I want to see them at the Billboard Music Awards next year, I really do.

we're talking about rolling stone here.

not too shabby of a list for rolling stone, although over and over at #30? jerks.

and for as much as i loved "crazy" when i first heard it, never have i gotten so sick of a song as i did with that one.
