Quote:
The perennially jovial Noel Gallagher has accused Green Day of ripping off Oasis' biggest hit, "Wonderwall." He says "Boulevard of Broken Dreams" is "exactly the same arrangement." He continues by saying "They should have the decency to wait until I am dead (before releasing this). I, at least, pay the people I steal from that courtesy." He also says of Green Day "They consider themselves to be - and I quote - 'a kick-ass rock 'n' roll band'. They could not be less kick-ass if they tried."

Well, it's pretty similar.

But it wasn't all that great in the first place.

And George Harrison had dibs on the title.

i saw el vez over the weekend and he pulled off a noel moment during a song that he changed to "super chevy nova." very amusing.

i'm not even sure i've heard "boulevard of broken dreams." all i remember from the last green day is that september song. and, really, it took this long for someone to tell noel about it?

I haven't tried playing them along side each other or anything, but my guess is the verses are interchangeable. I'm sure the Gallaghers were the first to come up with those chord progressions....uh huh...

On a side note, I loved Don't Believe the Truth.

Granted, it's a mash-up of Yeah Yeah Yeah's, Green Day, Love & Rockets, Samantha Fox and Oasis.
