Quincy Carter arrested

02:45 PM CST on Friday, December 15, 2006

By ERIC AASEN / The Dallas Morning News

Former Cowboys quarterback Quincy Carter was being held in the Irving jail Friday afternoon after he was arrested on a charge of possession of marijuana.

Police arrived at a home in the 100 block of West Shady Grove in south Irving around 5:30 a.m. Friday, where they found Carter inside a house causing a disturbance, Irving police spokesman David Tull said.

Carter, who was booked into the jail under his full name Lavonya Quintelle Carter, was found with under two ounces of marijuana, a class B misdemeanor, Irving police said.

As of 2 p.m., Carter hadn’t posted a $500 bond, Tull said.

Carter, 29, was released from the Cowboys in August 2004 after multiple reports that he failed a drug test, thus violating the National Football League's substance abuse policy. He enrolled in a drug rehabilitation program a short time later.

After he was signed as a backup quarterback for the New York Jets in fall 2004, he left the team in February 2005 to re-enter rehab for alleged drug use and bipolar disorder.

Carter signed with the Montreal Alouettes of the Canadian Football League in April 2006, but was released a month later.

I know I already bolded it above, but it bears retyping...

Lavonya Quintelle?!?!?!?!?

Then I was thinking that he should try to start an all-Marajuana team with Ricky and then was humbled to see...

What's the deal with Canada happily picking up all the NFL dropout/stoners?

We home.

Made it out on the 4pm flight back to the A. Met up with Bloor and had dinner with him and FemGAR at FemBloor's estalblishment, then hightailed it back to Monty. Laying in bed, mongering and reading up on what I missed. This place apparently goes to the dogs (and the new dumb) pretty quickly without constant vigilance.

Nice pics, btw...I will let YOU explain to FemGAR how her map sucked ;)

I'd advise against it - I'm still sore from driving an hour for nothing.

Glad to have you back gar.

Damn. Jim Donnan and Ron Mexico. I'd almost forgotten about them both. Donnan got fired my sophmore year, and I remember sitting in Snelling Dining Hall for dinner at 9pm one night, and the TV there was tuned into ESPN. And that was the announcement of his firing. No one had any idea before that. It was a strange thing to see like that. And though I was probably at both that SC and Tech game, I have no recollection of either. That's what booze will do to you, kids.
