If you listen to an album once and hate it, do you still put it on your year end list and stick it at 95 or something? Or just pretend you never heard it?

I feel kinda silly listing albums I don't like just because I gave it a listen.

i had like 470 albums from this year (way too many)

when i was narrowing down to my top 50, it started to get really hard around 150. So I guess there was about 150 albums i listened to quite a bit this year.

i usually give something at least 2 listens. if i don't like it after the 2nd, i delete it. i usually listen to something enough to know i like it before i buy it.

i woujld guess that the last 50 or so out of 100 are on 'feel', typically based on one listen

So do you only put something on your year end list if you own it?

yes, either by means of purchase in physical form or by emusic/itunes/etc.

I don't have 100+ lists but I only put a record on my Konstantirank list when I've listened to it a minimium of three times.

I do try and force myself to do this for all the albums I buy but sometimes it can be a struggle. I still have two LP's I've not rated, one from March and one from August which I'm not particularly looking forward to listening to again.

I also dig out every album on the list three months after its release date to give it another spin. This is to identify growers and faders.

That way I think I'm being as fair as possible.

May not make sense... but there are some things I listen to only once that make the list because I respect it (Danielson, Ships) and other things that don't make the list but I'll listen to numerous times because it's pleasing crap (Josh Rouse, Subtitulo).
