It seems like forever since we've had an "I'm drunk" thread so here's to a tradition not dying. Just polished off 2..count 'em two...bottles of wine and watched "Idlewild". While not overly exciting, I have to say that the director should probably stay in the video market. His high art stylization of dances and compositing of various special effects, while interesting, was not founded in a way of theatrical releases. Perhaps its the French wine speaking, but I found the musical numbers great, while the rest of the film fell flat with me.

Also, I'm going to watch Point Break.

"Utah...2...2."

Point Break? Are you in a time zone where it's sunday and only TBS comes in clearly? Because if you are, stick around for Road House... it's better.

Watched some bizarre 1922 Danish movie called Haxen and drank some wine called Three Blind Moose my boss bought me. He asked what I could drink with my allergies and I told him blackberry merlot doesn't bother me. Somehow he got that as "three blind moose." But he's 65 and from upstate New York and everything.

Haxen is great. The criterion DVD is amazing.

That's not up for debate here, but it's still a great movie.

Road House needs more nudity to qualify as a true classic. Though Ben Gazarra does make for the silliest villian since the Freddie Mercury-as-Hulkster dude from Commando.

...it's got some nudity...

...and what it lacks in boobs, it makes up for with roundhouse kicks.

I have never seen either of these movies mentioned. But I feel that I can contribute to this thread because I'm on the happily-tipsy side of things myself. Haha, toleration is a funny thing- I used to be able to drink like a 200 lb man (and I'm a 110 lb. girl; not necessarily something to be proud of though). I've been taking it VERY easy for the past month, and gee whiz, 3 PBRs (and now 2 whiskey-gingers) and I feel great. Much better on the wallet if anything.

One different thing I can say is that I had my first public show with the band I'm playing with now last night. I play trumpet, and I'm not that good yet since I've only been playing trumpet for a few months. But everything on my end went great, even with the beers I had. For those that have been in Athens, I am playing with The Dictatortots. Not a serious band at all, but a shitton of fun. Who else has a 4-minute metal song about liking beans? Or shoots toilet paper, cheesey poofs, and porn at the audience? Yup, these are my kind of people.

Many keg beers and 2 Crown & gingers later (the 12oz. Solo cup version), I can safely post in this thread. Come on!

hangin at the Vandy "last chance to score some strange before Christmas Break" parties?

Also, I wrote a college paper about how Point Break is the greatest action movie of all time. I thought I had it on this cpu, but I guess not.

I drank 3 beers and had dinner with Bloor and the newly-minted Mrs. Gar last night, then made it back to the crib about 11.

This is something I definitely want to read.

So I'm gonna start early today as I've got leftover booze that I guess I should probably finish rather than pack, so look out vodka, look out rum, look out Jack Daniels; Rossi, you're on notice. I'm taking you all out.

Well, you know, Chuck, booze don't travel. If you don't get rid of it all, you get nabbed for bootlegging whence you cross privinces

Our house has approx. 1264756 Crate and Barrel packages strewn about. A pile of laundry, nothing in the fridge, and my dad is coming tonite. Need to clean, but don't really give a flying fuck.

I'll dig that Point Break thing out sometime this week. As I remember its pretty funny, but no one is a bigger fan of me than me.
