Do people really still slow dance outside of weddings?

Of course they do!

I LOVE it, though I think I dance best on ecstasy.

indeed. I find there's not a lot of music that makes me truly want to dance. the exceptions are: dancehall, heh heh "jungle", and afrobeat.

I like dancing but have rarely been in a public place where I wanted to dance. maybe at a rave once of twice, circa 1993. I usually find most dance places are all about people checking each other out... which isn't really my thing (read: is lame).

Now Senor Six on the other hand... he loves dancing and doesn't give a shit about acting silly on the dancefloor. That makes me want to dance (and, of course 8 ounces of rum never hurts).

Believe it or not, some people actually have absolutely no interest in dancing.

The second one.

I don't know how to properly dance, but I enjoy jumping around my house when I'm alone and have good music on.

The best I could pull off in public would be a goofy Charlie Brown Christmas imitation.

<----um, and some people abhor dancing (in public).

The worst being when you're at a wedding and get dragged on teh dancefloor while they're playing that godawful Chabawamba song (or any of the other godawful music they usually play at wedding, Obner-weddings excluded).

for those who claim to not like dancing, what do you consider dancing? like, what do you do when you listen to music - just stand there? i mean, i consider it dancing if you're just rocking out to your favorite band at a show. you don't have to do a foxtrot or the mashed potato.

Chicken dance is all about sabotaging it by doing it backwards during the third time and confusing the fuck out of everybody. It's like clapping on the off-beats during the "Old Time Rock and Roll" breakdown.

I love dancing. I always have. And I don't mind dancing alone.

Grant it, there are different types of dancing. Slow dancing with your honey is always nice. But, it's that primitive instinct where I absolutely love to lose control. And y'know what, I don't fuckin' care if my moves aren't as good as the person next to me -- when you're lost in the music, it's all about how I feel.

Though, please don't put on crap music. If I'm not feeling the music, ain't no chance in hell you're gonna get me up to dance.

What about you?

yes.

The best dancer I've ever seen was a friend of a friend who was not, technically, a very good dancer. But she could give a shit. And she was the most fun to watch... made me want to dance, too. She threw her whole being into the music and just DANCED!

You simply could not make fun of her, because you could tell that she didn't care if you did. She was alive. And that's the way I wanted to be, too.

I love dancing and I danced my ass off at The Faint last night.
I don't even need to be drunk, but it does make it more fun.

I only slow dance and really only do that at weddings. Dancing in clubs (or anywhere for that matter) is one of the most uncomfortable, awful things I can think of. I'd rather give a public speech.
