what i'm saying is that the snl skit was a less inventive carbon copy of the mr show skit. . .

. . . and that repeating the dick in box line for five minutes isn't funny. . . but that's what this whole thread is saying: funny premise, good actors, bad execution. why are you beating this to death? it's just my opinion for god's sake.

Mine is the one where they have the Clip-o-Tron 2000 or whatever, and they show David in the Dr.'s office with his parents when he's 4: "Mommy, what's a Gegortion?"

Or:

Racist in the Year 3000

Or:

The Blow up the moon sketch

Or:

The rapping monk/William Van Landingham sketch

Or:

Wicked Sceptor

I should really pick up the DVD sets

if it really were one of your top 5 sketches, you should know how to spell it. (wycked scepter.)

Sorry, I don't use their tape with my friends like you do.

I'm not beating it to death. I'm just asking, is it just that they copied the "white r&b" schtick or is it the actual song. I don't get it. Didn't watch Mr. Show, haven't seen the Youtube clip (as I've already indicated since, as I've already said, it's blocked at work,) and no one's actually saying what's the same as the Mr. Show sketch other than white guys doing r&b, which is NOT something that Mr. Show invented.

ok the dick in the box thing was pretty funny though it maybe went on a bit too long but that barry gibb show was beyond pathetic.

yeah, the barry gibb thing was kinda beat--they reprised a lot of the sketches from jt's last appearance and didn't make them any better (or even as good). it's too bad because the alec baldwin show was so great. there are definitely bright spots, though. whatsherface-wigg is great. when she does amy poeler's aunt on weekend update it cracks me up.

Anybody have a link to a YouTube of that sketch from a season or two ago where Darrell Hammond portrayed Bill Kurtis doing narration for his A&E shows? Jason Bateman was the host. I think that's probably the funniest sketch they've done in the past five years or so, and I'm guessing if frostingspoon's wife has never seen it, she will literally die laughing, given her affinity for Kurtis/A&E crime-based series/specials.
