Outside there's a boxcar waiting...

I just found this by accident after the power blinked.

Caught it (by accident) last night. Not a big fan but this was the first ACL I've seen on the Hi Def PBS channel that was actually shot in HD and it looked fantastic (good sound quality as well). Seen Wilco last week but it wasn't HD (still a good performance and that's what counts).

I like Black's reinterpretation of Pixies songs on Frank Black Francis. They're stripped down and minimal but effective. Changes the mood from the originals substantially.

i liked it. however it was a tame looking audience. the most enthusiatic people in the crowd was this mid-40s guy double pumping his fists, and some young teenagers. most everyone else seemed like they didn't know what to do, especially at the "play the guitar with a drumstick" part.

but yeah it was cool. my wife thinks black and deal are getting old and fat but i only half agreed with her.

Yeah, I thought it was pretty fun. Loved Gigantic. Kim really looked happy. Actually, everybody did. Don't know how much of it's an act but they had me smiling too :)

Hey Sloshy, TheKindaMzkYouLike! What a fine taste in compilations you have there, my fellow GVSB loving obnerian.

Black's always been fat. He looked like a fat 10-year old in 1988. Now he looks like a fat 35-year old and probably will until he's 55 or so.

unfortunately, milwaukee public television liked to keep viewers in one extra week of suspense, and they broadcast ACL one week late, every week. so, in response, guided by voices sure was cool last night.
