is it possible we may be seeing a "best of" list that doesn't look like everyone else's best of 2006 list?

Thanks for the plug, B.

Sorry I've been such a lurker as of late.

Any obner vets will recogize this format (one disc of more pop stuff, one disc of more experimental stuff) from the mixtapes I post on the board every year! I took it and ran with it, so thanks to you guys for nurturing my obsessions for so many years!

I grabbed both discs. Will give a listen tomorrow. Some bands I've heard of that have piqued my curiosity, and some that I didn't know existed.

One label behind a decidedly indie-centric and euphoric piece of tween-pop which would have easily led off disc one told us "hell no."

One particularly baaaaallin' label was really into us posting a track, but the artist in question balked.

A couple of really teeny labels didn't get back to me because they either don't check their email a lot or just didn't see the point in responding.

Everyone was real cool and helpful and I am really grateful!

....Uh, I mean "THROW OUT YOUR COPYWRONGS! FUCK THE RIAA!" :P

Been listening to mixtape #1 this morning, and I will listen to mixtape #2 this afternoon. There is so much good stuff that I still need to pick up from 2006. Le sigh.
