It was animated. Pretty much a 90 minute cartoon. I saw it in the theater.

Yeah, remember the "You Got The Touch" song that Dirk Diggler does in Boogie Nights? Openly from the soundtrack of that first Transformers movie.

A staple (along with Rad) of my 80's life.

Man, I hope they can find a way to work some of the old soundtrack into this one.

Oh, and this looks pretty cool. No way it'll ever take the place of "the first one" for me, though.

And anothe rquestion... do they throw in some old school characters (beyond optimus prime) in an attempt to thank the fan base that will make it or break it (us)?

At least the trailer gave me chills....loved seeing a bit of optimus prime....my hopes won't be too high for the movie however (it is Bay)

<thread-jack>I know I was asleep at the switch, so prolly missed lots of discussion of it, here, but what the fuck? They're making a FOURTH Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles film? I saw the promotional banner at work last week -- has the four turtles, TMNT, & 3.22.07 (I think that's the date) on it -- & couldn't believe it.

Now, I have to ask: did Joey Crack try out for this one, too?</thread-jack>

Haha.

No Megatron = GARBAGE!

Then again, much like the original Megatron, he can't do much transformed into a hand gun.

Hasbro is going to make gazillions on this in merchandising.

I have the 20th anniversary dvd of the old movie. it's worth seeing again. i was more of a fan of Stan Bush's "Dare" on the soundtrack, and of course Weird Al's "Dare To Be Stupid"
