A rock-solid straight-up Indie Rock album that probably should have made the tail-end of my year-end list. And it doesn't appear to have made a dent in anyone's.

Worth picking up for fans of: Built To Spill, Modest Mouse, Television, Yo La Tengo

EDIT: Give it a couple of listens because it's a grower. The hooks are there, but not upon first listen.

I might check it out.

I'm really loving that Oakley Hall album. Track called 'Living In Sin In The USA' that is kicking my ass. Too late now though for the list bollocks.

Oh great, that's just what I need, another one to add to my list of albums I need to check out. Thanks a lot. Jerk.

Grandaddy - Just Like The Fambly Cat

It's got a pretty cool vibe and has a lot of good cuts on it. I know there are some fans here, so I wonder why this got swept under the rug...

Man, I almost picked up that Eleventh Dream Day and the Alejandro Escavedo from this year at Tower last week. I really wish that I had.

criminally overlooked, imho:
Image

although technically a 2006 release, all the tracks are a compliation of 12" singles from '97-'03. still a solid release for this year, although i did not include in my top 20 because i did not include comps as part of my picks.

for any of you fans of isolee, it is a must have. and i picked it up at tower for $5. god bless liquidation sales, otherwise i'd have to pay $25-30 for an import.

Saw Eleventh Dream Day at the Tower Records on Clark back in the spring. New stuff sounded quite good.
