10. Belle and Sebastian - The Life Pursuit

11. Jay-Z - Kingdom Come

12. Cold War Kids - Robbers and Cowards

13. Bob Dylan - Modern Times

14. Lucero - Rebels, Rogues, and Sworn Brothers

15. New York Dolls - One Day It Will Please Us To Remember Even This

16. The Format - Dog Problems

Looks like I need to pick this up. With it's inclusion here and harry's trumpeting of it I just put it on my list.

Calexico's on my list... and will rise over the next year. It is growing on me... especially after I saw them do most of the songs live a couple of weeks ago.

Nice list, consistent taste.

I wish I could sit down with you and help you get the Truckers, man. To each his own though.

Calexico were awesome as the closers of the Touch & Go Festival. One of many bands on my "I bet I'd love them, but I never bought a single album" list.

Every time I listen to that Calexico album, I'm like, "Damn, this is fuckin' GOOD!" but it still hasn't cracked my top 30. Gotta put it on again.

yeah, something about it never really grabbed me. i even tried to go back through the album and look for a track to throw on a year end mix and got nothing. Pretty disappointing considering the hype it got from a lot people who's tastes are usually similar to mine

I was watching Brokeback Mountain on cable last weekend and there was a scene where Allman Brother's Melissa was playing, and I thought, that's the most beautiful music I've ever heard. Does that count?

YES.

You should check out the thread that Fryxell Revolt put up about "Isbell of DBT fame".

Un-recorded song called "Dress Blues" performed live (youtube)

I'm sure you can at least appreciate the protest vibe of it. (Subversively anti-war)
