For those of you not cool enough to be on Timis' illegal music orgy list:

The Do Make Say Think album is pretty good. It's not the best album ever, but it is pretty standard and thoroughly enjoyable, IMO.

If you're interested in hearing a couple songs to get a taste I can up a couple. Just PM me.

I think it's weird that I heard about this Broken Social Scene spinoff before I heard about BSS themselves.

well. technically, it's a GY!BE spinoff as far as I understand it. But there are about 50 of those.

Charles Spearin is in both bands (DMST and BSS).

Yeah, once again, I don't think they have anything to do with Godspeed, but share members with BSS.

Listened to this on the train just now, and fell asleep. Man, it started really slowly. I really loved "Winter Hymn ... ", and they slayed me last time I saw them live.

Yeah, my patience for this sort of thing has waned, sadly. What comes after post-rock?

Weird. Maybe I am getting the GY!BE link mixed up between them and Set Fire to Flames. However, on my own research to prove myself wrong about my previous claim I came across the following wikipedia entry about GY!BE. Pretty interesting. Somewhat humorous too:

The group was one time misconstrued as being a band of terrorists.[3][4] After stopping at a local Sinclair gas station in the small town of Ardmore, Oklahoma, for fuel during their 2003 tour of the United States, the station attendant working that day believed the group of Canadians to be terrorists. She quickly passed a note to another customer also getting fuel to call the police. When the local police appeared, the group was held until they could be questioned by the FBI. When no incriminating evidence was found in their various vehicles and background checks were run, the ensemble was released from custody and continued on their way to their next show in St. Louis, Missouri. Interestingly, Efrim Menuck later spoke to the crowd about what happened to them during their appearance in Missouri and said, if they were of any other race than white, they would have been detained much longer than they were originally, hinting heavily toward the suspicion of racism in the police force. The incident was mentioned in Michael Moore's book, Dude, Where's My Country?.
