Just like Mr. Murdoch, I remain skeptical.

Piazza Weds Former Playboy Playmate

MIAMI - Mets catcher Mike Piazza married former Playboy Playmate and "Baywatch" star Alicia Rickter in a candlelight church ceremony. With baseball superstars including former Mets pitcher Al Leiter and Detroit Tigers catcher Ivan Rodriguez in attendance, Piazza and Rickter took their vows at St. Jude's Catholic Church on Saturday before boarding a yacht to a lavish reception on nearby Fisher Island.

Rickter, 32, wore a white satin Vera Wang gown and was joined by five bridesmaids, including maid-of-honor Angelica Bridges, a "Baywatch" co-star, and Playboy Playmates Brande Roderick and Lisa Dergan.

Noted for his racy bachelor days, Piazza, 36, embarked on married life at a small ceremony, joined by about 120 people. His brother Tony was best man.

Auxiliary Bishop Ignatius Catanello of the Diocese of Brooklyn performed the ceremony. He said Piazza was nervous "like a regular groom, but he's okay."

I saw Mr Murdoch a couple of weeks ago up the top end of Argyle Street. He was staring at me in quite a rude fashion.

And OK, I admit, I can look a little outlandish sometimes (especially as I still had the Charles Darwin at that point) but there's really no call for that sort of behaviour.

He's straight. I know a stripper in LA that can attest to it

It only matters because it's a great song, I saw an article, and it was something to post about. Very 2002, yeah, but it's not like I'm one o' them young hipstah bucks keeping up to th' minute with them hot topics.

Plus, he has the some of the best grooming of any non-gay man alive.

Best offensive catcher I've ever seen and his defense is underrated. He can't throw runners out for shit but otherwise is fairly solid defensively. Still, he's at the stage where his numbers slip just a bit each year.

yeah, and stealing bases isn't even that critical to the game anymore. i doubt anyone will ever come close to 100 in a season again. and even though his home parks have been very good for pitchers, his staff's ERAs have been pretty good too.

Cool, nothing to be embarassed over. This song questions the man's orientation? ~8^P

Piazza, New York Catcher

Elope with me Miss Private and we’ll sail around the world
I will be your Ferdinand and you my wayward girl
How many nights of talking in hotel rooms can you take?
How many nights of limping round on pagan holidays?
Oh elope with me in private and we’ll set something ablaze
A trail for the devil to erase

San Francisco’s calling us, the Giants and Mets will play
Piazza, New York catcher, are you straight or are you gay?
We hung about the stadium, we’ve got no place to stay
We hung about the tenderloin and tenderly you tell
About the saddest ending of a book you ever had to read
The statue’s crying too and well he may

I love you I’ve a drowning grip on your adoring face
I love you my responsibility has found a place
Beside you and strong warnings in the guise of gentle words
Come wave upon me from the wider family net absurd
“You’ll take care of her, I know it, you will do a better job”
Maybe, but not what she deserves

Elope with me Miss Private and we’ll drink ourselves awake
We’ll taste the coffee houses and award certificates
A privy seal to keep the feel of 1960 style
We’ll comment on the decor and we’ll help the passer by
And at dusk when work is over we’ll continue the debate
In a borrowed bedroom virginal and spare

The catcher hits for .318 and catches every day
The pitcher puts religion first and rests on holidays
He goes into cathedrals and lies prostrate on the floor
He knows the drink affects his speed he’s praying for
a doorway
Back into the life he wants and the confession of the bench
Life outside the diamond is a wrench

I wish that you were here with me to pass the dull weekend
I know it wouldn’t come to love, my heroine pretend
A lady stepping from the songs we love until this day
You’d settle for an epitaph like “Walk Away, Renee”
The sun upon the roof in winter will draw you out like
a flower
Meet you at the statue in an hour
Meet you at the statue in an hour

So, if you don't like him does it make you a piazzist?

I don't know. Maybe since Playboy centerfolds, for all they and Hef and the company posit that posing is a magnificent stepping-stone into big-time Hollywood production, are sort of trapped [sic] in a revolving door of tittilation, have decided that one possible lucrative post-modelling career is being the best damn beards, ever.

Sportspickle argues as much, anyway.

But, you really can't rejoin when you consider:

2004 Playmate of the Year Carmella DeCesare dating/engaged to Jeff Garcia;

Alicia Rickter marrying Mike Piazza.

Plus, 1999 Playmate of the Year Heather Kozar dated Tim Couch (who, while never rumoured to be gay, did bleach his hair... any ideas, people??), then dumped him to romp around Baja for a bit with Cade McNown (who, while never rumoured to be gay either, did play QB with the Bears like a Gotdamned faggot).

Eh, eh??
