There's no talent in wrapping a present. Don't you fold your clothes? Don't you re-fold a CD sleeve and put it back in its slot? Same thing, only with presents you need a couple of pieces of tape.

I've gotten better over the years, but still basically stink.

Mice is right though--Your chick and your mama think its really cute that you at least tried.

Spoken like a Type A personality.

Unorganized persons can be incompetant regarding many seemingly easy tasks. Shit like giftwrapping is an aggravation instead of a simple process. It's folding laundry quickly vs. folding laundry properly. CD sleeves are pre-folded, Not the same thing. You don't use scissors with a CD. You don't have excess paper with a CD. You don't have multiple angles to negotiate. You don't have the subconscious knowledge that this shit is just gonna be ripped off and thrown on the floor. You don't think things like "isn't the consumptive nature of Christmas a true headache and I just want to go back to bed" when you're replacing a CD insert.

We're the people who buy personal organizers and lose them the same afternoon.

Well said Spoon.

I'm the king of the sticky note. I've tried to use an organizer in the past and never stick to it.

I personally think my sloppy attempts at wrapping are charming. I've tried to make a real effort to do it in the past but I simply can't get it right. If I'm giving a gift to someone like the girl's parents or something I'll just get it wrapped at a Dept. store or something.

I cut this too short and needed to dig an extra piece out of the trash to cover it up.

That's on par with what I had to do for a birthday gift on the 15th. I ran out of wrapping paper and had to cut up a Trader Joe's paper bag to fill in the spots I couldn't cover.

I once wrapped a birthday gift in a Budweiser box (12-pack cans) covered in a collage made from various porno mags. Smutty porno, too, like Huster, Club & Gallery, not any of that chickenshit without kidney shots.

from now on, i think i need to only get people regularly-shaped gifts or put irregularly-shaped objects into boxes that i can wrap well.

this is adorable. i probably wouldn't open it, it's so cute.

i received a gift yesterday which sort of looked like a small child with broken hands wrapped. but, it's the thought that counts and therefore, i love it, jacked up wrapping or otherwise.

(tania, i'm totally like you... wrapping's second nature to me. i wish i gave more gifts so i could show it off a little more.)

yeah it was for my 2 year old niece so i'm sure the wrapping wasn't that important to her.
