Besides this computer, I got a couple of Minutemen CDs, a pool table, some nice shoes, a celtic knot bracelet, some books, sundry toiletries, a 3-in one printer/scanner/fax machine, money and kinky sex.

I made out really well this year. Got the 3-CD Tom Waits thing, a sweater that I actually like, and a bunch of other stuff including some money that may end up going towards a Wii when I can find one.

On the dvd front:
-a bunch of Disney and Peanuts movies
-Simpsons and Looney Tunes box sets
-It's A Wonderful Life
-Mirrormask
-Hedwig And The Angry Inch
-the Eels live dvd

On the book front:
-The latest two volumes of The Complete Peanuts
-Finding Lost
-How Soon Is Never? by Marc Spitz
-an encyclopedia of rock music

On the cd front:
-new Ben Kweller
-new Hawksley Workman
-Hidden Cameras
-Ramones
-complaints that nothing on my list can be found in stores

General assessment:
-I got a lot of stuff that I want but nothing on my list that I really, really wanted. No new camera. No Ed Wood or Mission Hill box sets. No Flaming Lips or Yo La Tengo deluxes. No Clowes, Tomine, or Thompson graphic novels.

I don't want to be disappointed. Anything is better than nothing and I do love 90% of the gifts I got. But I was born well into the commercialisation era of Christmas so I can't help but feel letdown.

Generous check from my parents.

My bro gave me a new CD player for my car that will facilitate me being able to play my iPod. My previous player did not. Brought a tear to my eye.

I think FT won this round though.

By which I mean, twenty to thirty years ago Christmas displays would still go up in stores sometime in December.

As opposed to this year, when we started putting out Christmas stock in the beginning of September.
