So,
We got here, and immediately began guzzling beer. Phil has a Chicago accent (which is surprising) Colin is a sexy bitch (which we knew) and Deena and Phil are made for each other (much like me and Femgar)

We then decamped to The Spider House, where Collin is presentlt employed. A great coffee house, several awesome brews on tap, and the best looking waiter in Austin.

Now, there is the little matter of me reviewing the new Truckers album for THE NEW AND IMPORVED HIPDISPLEASURE...

It's my # 5 of the year...I have some riff about The Truckers being "The New Outkast," because they have grown up with me with each release. But this album is almost Adult Contemporary. I like all the songs, but none of them have the 'immediacy' of all the releases since SRO.

I love several songs (Easy on Yourself, February 14th, World of Hurt) but where's TEH ROCK?!!? Bloor should have reviewed this (Bob feel free to post something besides this)

All the posts about food. And al the posts by Phil about food. Don't add up to the Blue Carn Lasagna that Phil prepared for us. Holy Shit. I brought 3 bottles of wine, and I feel liek I ain't pullin my weight.

We have The Chalk Outlines on the stereo.

P.S. Loog and the Mrs. are super cool. Having a great time.

Also, that Format album is rated WAAAAAAYYYY low for me.

I think that the "I Love Love, I Love Being in Love" song is the #3 song of the year, behind "What You Know" and "the Funeral"

I just got drunk dialed as well; feeling very honored to be tangentially involved in the carnage.

And maybe a little jealous.

LooGAR was genuinely taken aback by the hospitality of the Colin/Phil/Deena household and the city in general ("It's like they're beyond QUAL") all of which I can verify from past experience.

Early plans for SXSW '07 were made, but we had to cut it short because the authorities were likely wiretapping and planning how to thwart "the Obner offensive" (a phrase that works on numerous levels when you think about it).

Good on you all. Do us proud.

Done girlfriend, but bring josh, charlie, and the little one. You dig?

We're still going strong but the loogar family had to jet.

So, uh, what's up? We ought to hit the sack since we're driving to chicago tomorrow, but no one ever accused us of being intelligent.

Yes. First words out of my mouth to Colin: "I'm so jealous of your parties. I'm moving to Austin." Or something like that.

Dave's got a much higher voice than I expected. Your nuts dropped yet, boy?

The boy knows how to treat a guest. No doubt.

As to LooGAR's inflection; it helps to imagine Foghorn Leghorn. Makes total sense after you think about it.

I will. Soon.

I forgot to tell him about it, but if he reads the board (which he does), he's probably seen the invite.

HEY JAMES, WE'RE INVITED TO BRUNCH ON NYD WITH PHIL!

I'm sure he knows now.

And, duh. Of course I'll be there. He'll probably go if there's football on a tv.

Man, I've got a LOT to figure out. I'd take the floor these days. A dirty floor at that.

Smooches to you, too. You and Miss D are the best.

fuck the floor, you got the couch or the queen size air mattress at the very least, but i would take the couch if i were you. unless you want to navigate the treacherous waters of colin's love life.

however, i think you are woman enough to tame his wild soul because you = hot piece of ass. Deena agrees.

Awwwww, you two are the sweetest. I would hug you both if I weren't sitting in freezing ass Chicago right now.

Pfft... Colin's wild soul. Funny. I'd have him tamed in under ten minutes.
