81. Kanye West - "Jesus Walks"
Quote:
When African-American churches abandoned the Gospels' social relevance for the mantle of political power, hip-hop picked up the reigns, birthing a generation of Adidas-tongued street activists. But then the jiggyism of the 90s made like Galactus, swallowing worlds of integrity and everything else.

It's not a terrible list. In fact, they included some singles that I thought were unjustly left off of the Stylus list.

I don't get it though, neither list has any love for "One Mic" ???

That's the most anthemic hip hop single of the last 4 years, easy.

crazy in love is probably my favorite song of all time.

100% girl group.

it would be our song at our wedding but I think freakin' to it would be inappropriate.

say what you will about pop music, but most of these people are there to make great singles. their albums may suck sometimes but this is the finest example of hitting the nail on the head.

and beyonce's voice is amazing.

That's my ringtone. Say what you want about Jay, but that muthafucka has some flow.

I'd'a gone with Big Pimpin, personally. Bun-B and Pimp C put it down hard.

"What you know about them Texas boys, comin down in candy toys, smokin weed and talkin noise." Words to live by.

Also, the only good calls in the top 10 are Kylie and Kast, and apparently Kanye has more good singles on one album than anyone, ever. He's like the new Beatles.

Their singles lists are usually pretty airtight and this one is no exception.
Though "Maps" shouldn't be a top 10, more like top 50.

But all in all, this is a great blueprint if you've got some spare room on the iPod, which I do.
