Not sure if this has been discussed already. However, this movie is intense. After the first 10 minutes you start to look past Don Cheadle's poor Rwandan speaking English accent. The movie is great. There are so many things in this movie I cannot even process completely at this time.

Everyone should go see it.

Whenever it hits one of the two 'art-house' screens at the AMC 18 at Mayfair Mall, I'll be seeing it, as at such time it will be free for me to see. (All films seen free now. Not just Hotel Rwanda -- I am not fronting on the Hutu nor Tutsi. Rather, whether it be Life Aquatic or Meet the Fockers, Blade III or the Aviator, I don't need to pay, so I won't pay*.)

* Of course, this now leaves me incapable of exclaiming, as Ben Folds does on Fear of Pop, Vol. I, track number 9 (?), "I paid my money, and I am going to see all the movie. I paid my money, and I'm going to see all the movie. I paid, I paid, I paid, I paid...".

Shit.

Yeah, it's not around here...I should have gone before I left New York. When an attractive intelligent liberal chick suggests that you go to a movie with her, you should really go.

I saw it on Saturday. Intense, heart-breaking and provocative. Cheadle was great in the movie and deserves the Oscar nod. The woman who played his wife was good too, and I was actually surprised to *like* Nick Nolte in a movie (most of the time, I can't stand his overly histrionic brand of acting). The only thing I wished they had elaborated more on was the timeline in which it took place. Granted it was all mid-1994, but it would have been nice to know how much time passed between the white flight and how Cheadle et. al. gets to safety. Days? Weeks?

Anyhow, would highly recommend.

His accent was supposed to be a mix of Rwandan and Belgian.
