It's a tough call. I'd gladly give up my voice or my sense of smell. Hell, I'd give up both to keep my sight and hearing. But if you had to choose between going blind and going deaf.

I can't imagine never being able to listen to music again but I think I would have to sacrifice my ears as being blind seems like it would be so much more difficult. Not being able to see loved ones, watch tv or movies, and so on. But not only that. I'd just feel so helpless. Not knowing if I were walking into anything or not. Not being able to open a can of food without someone telling me what it was.

So yeah, it basically seems like an easy answer but still. No music ever again?

I could deal with deafness--I can't imagine life without sight.

What a morbid poll, btw. Granted, I'm a bit sensitive to giving up bodily capabilities these days.

I'd be damn happy if someone defingered you with bolt cutters.

um... i'd probably rather go blind. while i'd hate to learn braille, i think ASL would be even more difficult.

Speaking of Braille, can someone tell me why there is Braille on the drive-through ATM at my bank?

Because learning how to drive when you're blind is still easier than getting out of your vehicle and going into the bank.

i'm pretty sure they use the same model ATMs at the drive-thru that they do everywhere else and they have to comply with certain laws for people who are deaf and blind.

You know, it seems simple, but I was deaf in one ear for about a week, and it fucking SUCKED...

I'll go with Fu's vote of defingering someone with bolt cutters.

I'm already slowly going blind and deaf, but I'd certainly rather be blind than deaf. I could cope with not being able to see the sons of bitches I have to interact with every day, but not hearing music would be very, very bad.

It was actually a lot closer than I expected. BC has a good team. The Midshipmen only lost 4 games this year: all 4 to teams that made a bowl; 3 to ranked teams; 2 by only one point; and 2 blowouts to Rutgers and Notre Dame. They got nothing to be ashamed of. Well, except that shot of Paul Johnson in the NASCAR get-up.

The first thought that came to my mind was, "To not be able to see beautiful women again . . . ?" The scents and sounds of a woman only? (Hoo-ah!) No, I'd gladly give up my hearing.
