I damn near had a sober NYE. The latest storm to wreak havoc on Denver dropped about four inches of ice and snow on Lincoln last night, which was a little surprising to the weather forecasters. I wasn't sure if I was going to be able to get downtown tonight or if I was even going to be able to walk a few blocks to the grocery store to get some booze. Luckily for me, every other motorists was crazy enough to brave the weather and insure the roads were well travelled before we made our way downtown to the sibling residence.

I went to a party last year, but this year its the bars. If the majority of my friends weren't currently recent parents, or trapped in snow bound regions of the state and country, I'd be going to a party.

Friends' party here. I don't PLAN on getting AHHHHH! but we all know I will.

Gonna drink some Guinness and Espresso early to get the night rolling. Have some Rogue American Ale and Champagne for later.

Not exactly excited, but I guess it beats sitting here and watching my Black Eyes Pea Chowder cook all night.

Unlike previous new years in Chicago (to which Haq can attest) I haven't been drinking and cooking since day light. I would typically go on 5 day benders and then quit when my bodily functions started to go horribly awry.

Now i'm watching this sf/denver matchup, then bears and packers, keeping it under control. Then going over to pete's to prep for tomorrow's recovery brunch, which is truly where the fun will be.

Yes we do. I'm doing the same, but the only difference is that I don't usually get this fucked up on a Sunday....in December....when I'm staying at someone's house...and babysitting three wheaton terriers.
