I had that channel potted down. It was drowning me out.

For those of you who may be reticent about devoting an hour to yet another podcast, this is only 30 minutes long.

Give me the unvarnished truth about my DJ-ing. Did it sound too much like I was reading my copy?

Not really. I was actually pretty impressed. Kinda like "even if he is reading this it doesnt sound forced, and the copy is pretty good"

Dude, you know radio pretty well.

Cool. Thanks, man. That means a lot coming from a skilled professional such as yourself.

I just got around to the last Pogblask last night. I'm a bit behind, but I'm working on catching up.

Dude, I put your "Mr. Cool" song on there with a full-blown Casey Kasem-style long distance dedication to you! Is that not enough to get me moved up in the TCB listening queue???

Ok, I downloaded the podcast and listened to it this morning. Here are some thoughts.

Little Sonny - "Little Creeper"

Boy, I love this. I can't believe I've never heard it before. The howl of dat harmonica blows me away.

The great thing about this podcast is that sounds exactly what Chicago black radio was playing in my youth, that being the mid to late 70's. So it takes me waaayyy back and I can again relive the moments here.

The Brothers Seven - "Funky Smunk"

Seriously, this sounds like something that was played on the animated Fat Albert cartoons I used to wake up early to watch on Saturday mornings.

Timmy Thomas - "Why Can't We Live Together"

Another great find I never heard before. Very nice. So relaxing.

Julian Thomas - "The Other Side Of Town"

Was this covered by someone much, much later? I remember hearing it before but I can't place it. Damn, these jazzy piano stylings makes me want to sit in front of a blank white wall and drink myself into sorrow. I love it.

Gaturs - "Cold Bear"

Well, who isn't up for a cold beer?

Mary Jane Hooper - "I've Got Reasons"

A great funk and bump with plaintive black female vocals. The world needs more saxophone solos. Spread the word.

Joseph Henry - "I Feel Right"

The answer to James Brown's, "I Feel Good"? Although kind of derivative, I can still feel the groove on this one.

Rasputin's Stash - "Mr. Cool"

Yeah, this gets my head bobbing too. Those horns really knock me out.

Overall: Wolfman Jack gots nothing on Bob's radio patter, nice job here.

Thanks, Bart! The playlist for #2 has already been selected. Only the voiceover and editing remain...
