I don't know if its just the fact that I don't have a lot to do, and therefore are needing an outlet to do less, or whether its just that you people have finally run out of anything remotely interesting to say, but FUCK this is the doldrums.

Also, there are many times that between 6=15 people will be browsing with nary a post. I think its like I said before, you are so used to getting your entertainment/stimulus from outside sources (music, movies, blow up doll, people who have wandered into your dungeon) that you expect other posters to come up with good topics or posts.

It can't be a coincidence that I haven't been posting lately.

If this is a sarcastic thread- hasn't this "this year so far" thing been done to death?

If this is a serious thread- um... you made your bed now you gotta lie in it.

You gotta, it's a rule. Haq told me.

I'd start more NMR threads but I really don't like bitching about my personal life on here unless its to relate to another thread.

everything I could ever want to say about any band has already been said

I'll stick to my sometimes filthy one-liners

I still love all of you...except you.

i probably have 8-10 2007 albums rated -- just showing the top 5.

let's see if i can list 'em... air, !!!, charlambides, youth group, apples in stereo, the shins, deerhoof, the magic numbers

i'm pretty sure there's a couple more. i'm doing my best to resist temptation to DL new bloc party and of montreal early.

I've brought more to this board than the next 20 posters combined. And, again, I have at least tried to foster some discussion. I guess we should all await your next post about Ting Tang La La and His Mystical Chinese Chopstick Band being the rekkid of the year with baited breath.

Oh, the non-denial denial. You'd do well as a middle manager if you could find your way around your asshole to get to your elbow.

Blame those big cheese bloggers.

They took something (posting about music) which was recreational, fun and public on the boards and made it in to something that was more like a boring ass job with deadlines, which isn't fun (because it's more like a boring ass job) and is privatised and divided between their own little spaces, all of which are seperate from Obner.

If Miss Marples gathered FT, OPA, MiceElf and Dalen (and any other music bloggers I missed out) she would say 'I have gathered you all here today to my drawing room to identify the murderer of Obner and it was....all of you'.

Let me explain by taking my good self as an example combined with a certain willing suspension of disbelief. Now just imagine I had something interesting to say on a music topic.

Do I post it on Hip-D (depriving Obner of music discussion)?

Or do I post it on Obner and Hip-D (everyone reads it on Obner and nobody bothers to visit Hip-D)?

Or do I forget about Hip-D all together (In which case the blogs become completely irrelevant)?

I don't want to harsh on anyone who has started a music related blog but it's my explaination as to why Obner seems to have dipped in recent times.
