Love it, along with The Coast Is Never Clear and When Your Heartstrings Break.

Does anyone know what Miles Kurosky, et. al. are up to now?

I'm hoping he'll launch a lengthy solo career. Best lyricist in the business.

i pulled this out a few weeks ago looking for songs for a certain mix and really enjoyed it. it'd been way too long since last hearing it.

Cazart! I was just listening to this in my truck mere moments ago. Great album, I like The Coast Is Never Clear Better, but they both good.

I also like Handsome Western States. Sooooooooo Elephant 6 its not even funny; could be the lost AIS-OTC album......

Funny, I just picked up this album last week after not listening to it for like a year. Yeah, I also love this album. Miles Kurosky was on npr last year talking about "me and jesus don't talk anymore", explaining the lyrics while the song was playing.

Haven't heard hearstrings; been meaning to pick it up at some point, but it's moved pretty far down on the list. Maybe I should push it back up...

my favorite of theirs. i like how they don't use the horns nearly as much and sound less novelty to my ears and more serious.

If I'm not mistaken, they did originally put out "Handsome" under the E6 banner... However, feeling like the "ugly stepchildren" of the group, the struck out to (not so) greener pastures on the second album...

Oh they totally did put it out on E6--its why i brought it up; its weird how big of an E6 fan i was/am and had never heard beulah until fairly recently. Which speaks to (as you rightly mention) their lack of time on the label.

When Your Heartstrings Break is one of my all time favorites, but this one isn't too shabby either.

yeah, same here. i only saw them once and it was on the yoko tour, but that album's meant a lot to me. and i didn't realize quite how much til i was singing along to every song and memories of listening to it were flooding back. pretty intense.
