I'm a mtn biker...but since there seems to be a burgeoning street scene happening around my apt, I'd like to dip the toe in the water. This isn't a new idea, just one that has become more viable now.

So my question though is, I'm 6'1, 200+ lbs., are there any frames, bikes you would rec?

you need what's called a dirt jumping bike. that's the best bmx substitute for a grown man. i have one on order myself, but i couldn't tell you the manufacturer, model name, nothing. my brother in law works in a bike store and is taking care of all of it but the dough.

I've got an old GT and its too small. They used to not make "adult" BMX/Freestyle sized frames for their production bikes. Nowadays, you can get just about anything you want, its just expensive as shit.

I was looking at those frames as well. They were bigger than the 20"s that the standard street frames tended to be. Dan's Comp had quite a few frames on sale, I might look to build something up.

In this high-paced world of bicycling...yes.

If I could get a Mongoose circa 1986/7 I'd rip that shit up.

Mine is an '88 GT Pro Freestyle Tour; a little too heavy, but not too bad for dirt jumping though not nearly as comfortable as my old Dyno Pro Comp (stolen). Those old frames just arent long enough for someone who is 6'2, its weird.
