OK this will be my Obner Shmoo poll Top 20 since I don't have time to finish off my 2006 business before the 15th (exams and so forth).

A few changes since I submitted my Hip-D list.

It's pretty good and only available on import in the US.

What is this?

Was this a last minute inclusion? I recall seeing Neko, M Craft, M. Ward, and Belle and Sebastian all locked in your top ten for most of the year. I figured one of those would end up with your top spot.

One of the best lists except #9 disqualifies you.

Also, it seems like Tom Waits and Willie Nile should be on this list.

Yeah I didn't get to buy many albums in the later half of the year so most of the list is old news to those paying attention.

I've described Stephen Yerkey as Ry Cooder meets Louie Armstrong meets Captain Beefheart but that's so baffling I'm not even sure how accurate that could be.

He's on Myspace like everyone else these days.

I figured M.Craft was gonna be up there. I now realize harry's correct from the US perspective on the PB&J. I have them at 7. Nice list.
